About MLAC
The Mt. Lebanon Aqua Club (MLAC)is a competitive swim team in Western Pennsylvania. For 50 years, our coaching staff has offered unparalleled instruction to swimmers of all ages and abilities. From nationally and internationally ranked swimmers to children who have mastered basic swimming skills and are ready for a greater challenge, we have a program that fits your child’s needs. MLAC is a 501 ©(3). 501©(3) means a nonprofit organization that has been recognized by the IRS as being tax-exempt by virtue of its charitable programs. You can find our form 990 here :

Competitive Swimming
The majority of our swimmers do swim competitively; however, it is not a prerequisite to joining the club. In our year-round competitive swimming program, children are placed in one of five swimming classifications – Stingray, Dolphin, Barracuda, Marlin, and Shark. Placement is based on ability. Practice times vary from group to group but most groups practice a minimum of three times per week. Our more advanced swimmers practice more often. Team members are encouraged to attend 80 percent of all practices, to ensure maximum benefit. For more information, see “Teams”.

Pre-Competitive Swimming
Minnows is a pre-competitive program that prepares swimmers for year-round competitive swimming by emphasizing stroke technique and stroke development. This program is run by our MLAC coaching staff. Minnows are divided into two levels, practicing one or two hours per week. This program is ideal for the child who wishes to improve his/her swimming skills but is apprehensive about swimming competitively. For more information and registration forms, please see “Minnows”.

We inspire our swimmers to be champions in life through perseverance and discipline while building confidence, self-esteem, and life-long friendships and fond memories in a safe and supportive environment.

Swimmers who learn correct swimming technique from the very beginning are stronger and therefore safer swimmers throughout their life. It is our goal to develop confident, safe swimmers who will enjoy the sport whether they go on to join a competitive team or just join friends at the pool. Our staff of professional coaches train and supervise a team of high school and college age instructors. We are very proud of the quality programs we offer to the community of Mt. Lebanon.

Trust, Belief, Committment!

MLAC trains primarily at the Mt. Lebanon High School pool, a new 8 lane 25 yard long pool. During the summer season, MLAC also utilizes the renovated Mt. Lebanon Recreation Department’s 50 meter, 9 lane outdoor pool
